Universal Studios takes visitors into the worlds of movies and television. The theme park, also a working television and motion picture production studio, has a backlot, sound stages and realistic street sets. Join Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie on The Simpsons Ride as they visit the Krustyland theme park. Riders are plunged into darkness in Revenge of the Mummy. Guests see, hear and feel the action courtesy of Ogre vision in Shrek 4-D. The interactive ride Men In Black Alien Attack allows visitors to save the galaxy by zapping creatures as the ride moves through city streets. Fear Factor Live is an audience participation stunt show based on the reality TV programme. Terminator 2: 3-D is a futuristic mix of live action and 3-D film and visitors come face-to-face with a tornado in Twister … Ride It Out. Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon Blast takes visitors on a wild chase through favourite cartoons, including SpongeBob SquarePants and Rugrats. Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone features the Curious George Goes To Town play area, Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster and E.T. Adventure. Rip, Ride, Rockit is a multimedia roller coaster that lets you pick your own music and download a video of your experience.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure (incorporating The Wizarding World of Harry Potter) is a technologically advanced theme park featuring five themed islands, each with its own innovative rides and attractions. Port of Entry, with food and shops, serves as an introduction to the park.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is 20 acres of rides, shops and Harry Potter experiences. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is a state-of-the-art attraction that will bring your favourite characters to life in ways never before experienced. The centrepiece of the entire area, the Hogwarts castle, is 15 storeys high. From the front archway of Hogsmeade to the immensity of Hogwart’s Castle, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter features The Hogwarts Express complete with billowing steam and an iconic whistle. Hogsmeade features many of Harry Potter’s favourite places to go including The Three Broomsticks & Hog’s Head Pub, The Owlery, The Owl Post, Ollivanders Wand Shop, Dervish and Banges, Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods, Zonkos and Honeydukes candy shop. Guests can sip Butterbeer, buy Extendable Ears and eat Chocolate Frogs just like Harry, Hermione and Ron in Universal’s Hogsmeade. There’s Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Dragon’s Challenge (a twin high-speed roller coaster based on the Tri-Wizard Tournament provides the thrills for adrenaline-seekers). For the little ones there is a more family-friendly coaster called Flight of the Hippogriff.
Marvel Super Hero Island puts you in the middle of a comic book city where you’ll find the 3-D thrill ride The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk Coaster and the gravity-defying Doctor Doom’s Fearfall. Toon Lagoon’s attractions are based on cartoons and comic strips, such as Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls log flume ride and Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges white-water raft ride. Jurassic Park recreates a land inhabited by pre-historic creatures. Jurassic Park River Adventure features a narrow escape from a hungry T.rex. Visitors unearth mysteries from the past at the Jurassic Park Discovery Center. Camp Jurassic is an interactive children’s play area which also features the Pteranodon Flyers kids ride. The Lost Continent features mythic tales and epic adventures such as the inverted double roller coasters Dueling Dragons and The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad stunt show. Theodor “Dr Seuss” Geisel’s characters come to life at Seuss Landing. The Cat In The Hat takes visitors on a ride through the classic children’s book and a menagerie of Dr Seuss characters serves as steeds on the Caro-Seuss-el. Other attractions include the If I Ran The Zoo play area, the One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish ride and The High In The Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride!
Universal CityWalk is an entertainment complex featuring casual and fine dining in themed restaurants, nightclubs, specialty shopping and a 20-screen movie theatre. Popular venues include Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville,Emeril’s Restaurant Orlando,Latin Quarter, Bob Marley – A Tribute to Freedom, the groove dance club, and Hard Rock Cafe. Live entertainment at restaurants and clubs provides evening highlights. In addition, visitors can experience the popular Blue Man Group’s signature blend of percussion, comedy and theatrics in the Sharp AQUOS Theater.
